Providing high-quality power to the world
Factory-Direct Transformer Supply for Global EPC Projects
For an EPC contractor, choosing a transformer supplier is rarely just about line items on a datasheet. The manufacturer standing behind the equipment has a direct bearing on how smoothly design coordination, production control, testing, and final delivery actually go.
A transformer that meets the specification on paper still needs to be built correctly, shipped on time, and backed by solid technical documentation. That’s where the manufacturer’s capability matters.
Zisheng Electric is a transformer manufacturer in China, set up to handle design, manufacturing, testing, and export of power transformers and distribution equipment. We operate our own production facility and in-house engineering team, with quality management procedures built around the realities of EPC project delivery. Our work covers renewable energy, industrial plants, utility networks, and infrastructure projects — working alongside contractors, consultants, and project owners.

In EPC projects, how quickly and clearly information flows between the contractor and the manufacturer often affects the whole project timeline. Technical changes, drawing approvals, and delivery schedules all depend on close, practical cooperation.
When you work directly with Zisheng Electric, you’re talking to the people responsible for engineering and production — not going through layers of intermediaries.
What that looks like in practice:
Throughout the project, our engineers track the production process closely to make sure the finished transformer matches what was agreed at the approval stage.
Zisheng Electric runs its own transformer manufacturing facility. We’re not a trading company coordinating between different workshops — the main production processes sit under one roof.

What we cover in-house:
Keeping these steps under internal control means we can maintain more consistent product quality, manage production schedules more reliably, and respond faster when technical communication is needed.

For EPC projects, this setup also gives us flexibility. When a project requires adjustments in design, accessories, or technical configuration, we’re in a position to adapt without long back-and-forth delays.
Rather than offering fixed product catalogs, Zisheng Electric builds transformers around how they will actually be used. The following gives an overview of what we manufacture and where each type typically fits in EPC projects.
The practical choice for outdoor power distribution and larger energy projects. Solar PV plants, wind farms, utility distribution networks, and industrial facilities are common applications. These transformers are built for high operating efficiency, low energy losses, strong overload capability, and long service life under continuous operation.
Commonly specified where fire safety, environmental considerations, and indoor installation are non-negotiable. Data centers, commercial buildings, indoor substations, and manufacturing facilities frequently use dry-type units. The design prioritizes lower fire risk, minimal maintenance requirements, and suitability for enclosed environments.
Designed for outdoor distribution systems where compact footprint and safe operation matter. We see these in underground distribution systems, renewable energy projects, and commercial developments. Key characteristics include a compact structure, outdoor-rated design, and straightforward connection with distribution networks.
Medium-Voltage Electrical Equipment
For projects that require a broader scope of supply, Zisheng Electric also manufactures medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage panels, ring main units, package substations, and protection and control equipment. This allows EPC contractors to source transformers alongside associated distribution equipment from a single manufacturer when project requirements align.
Rarely do two EPC projects share exactly the same technical conditions. Site location, grid characteristics, and operating environment all feed into the transformer design.
Rather than pushing only standard models, Zisheng Electric works with the project team to develop a design that fits the actual job.
Areas where we customize:
Before manufacturing starts, our engineering team reviews the project specifications and confirms the transformer design with the customer.
The following examples illustrate the type of projects Zisheng Electric has worked on. Specific project details and customer names are available through direct communication.
Solar PV Project — Southeast Asia
Industrial Facility — Middle East
Utility Distribution Network — Africa
Wind Farm Project — Central Asia
These project references reflect our experience in supplying transformers for different geographies, climate conditions, and technical standards. Each project followed the same principle: design according to specification, manufacture with quality control, and deliver with proper documentation.
Zisheng Electric maintains certifications and test capabilities that meet international EPC project requirements.
ISO 9001:2015
Quality management system certification covering transformer design, manufacturing, and related processes.
ISO 14001:2015
Environmental management system certification applicable to our manufacturing operations.
ISO 45001:2018
Occupational health and safety management system certification for production facility management.
Product Standards Compliance
Transformers are designed and tested according to recognized international standards, including:
Routine and Type Testing
Our factory testing capability covers routine tests as specified in IEC 60076, type tests at accredited laboratories when required by project specifications, and Factory Acceptance Testing witnessed by customers or third-party inspectors.
For projects that require specific certifications, type test reports, or additional compliance documentation, our team works with EPC contractors to confirm the applicable requirements before production begins.
For EPC contractors, factory inspection isn’t a formality — it’s a standard part of project acceptance. Zisheng Electric treats it the same way.
Quality checks run throughout the manufacturing process, covering incoming materials, in-process inspection, and final testing.
Before shipment, each transformer goes through routine tests:

Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) can be scheduled according to project requirements. Customers are welcome to witness testing or appoint third-party inspectors prior to shipment. The point is to confirm that the equipment arriving on site matches the approved technical requirements.
A transformer order involves multiple stages before the equipment reaches the installation site. Here is how Zisheng Electric works with EPC customers across the entire process.
Technical Review
Our engineers go through the project specifications, voltage requirements, load conditions, installation environment, and applicable standards — flagging any points that need clarification before design work begins.
Engineering Design
Transformer designs are developed around the actual electrical parameters, cooling requirements, protection needs, and site conditions, not just generic templates.
Technical Documentation
We provide the documents that EPC projects typically require, including technical datasheets, general arrangement drawings, test reports, certificates, and operation manuals.
Manufacturing and Inspection
Production follows the approved documents. Inspections are performed at each key manufacturing stage, not just at the end.
Export and Delivery
Transformers are professionally packed and prepared for international transportation, with logistics coordinated according to project timelines.
What is your typical delivery time for EPC projects?
Delivery time depends on the transformer type, capacity, and design complexity. For standard distribution transformers, production typically takes 30–60 days after drawing approval. For larger power transformers or highly customized designs, lead times are confirmed during the technical review stage based on the specific project requirements. We provide a production schedule early in the process so EPC contractors can plan downstream activities accordingly.
Can you manufacture transformers according to both IEC and ANSI/IEEE standards?
Yes. Our engineering team is familiar with both IEC and IEEE standards. We have supplied transformers designed to IEC 60076 for projects in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia, as well as units complying with ANSI/IEEE C57 for projects specifying North American standards. The applicable standard is confirmed during the technical review stage, and the design is developed accordingly.
Do you arrange Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) before shipment?
Yes. FAT can be scheduled as part of the project quality plan. Customers can send their own representatives to witness testing at our factory, or appoint a third-party inspection agency. We coordinate the FAT schedule with the project team and provide the necessary test documentation afterward.
What documentation do you provide with the transformers?
Typical documentation includes technical datasheets, general arrangement drawings, routine test reports, FAT reports (if applicable), certificates, packing lists, and operation manuals. If the project requires additional documentation — such as material certificates, type test reports, or specific compliance statements — these are confirmed during the technical review and prepared accordingly.
Do you handle export logistics and shipping?
Yes. Our team arranges professional export packing suitable for sea freight or land transportation, prepares shipping documents, and coordinates with freight forwarders according to the project delivery schedule. We have experience shipping transformers to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.
Can you provide references from previous EPC projects?
Yes. We can share relevant project references during technical discussions. The project examples listed on this page give an overview of the types of projects we have worked on. For specific references related to your project scope, our team can provide additional details upon request.
What is the warranty on your transformers?
Standard warranty terms are confirmed during contract negotiation and are documented in the supply agreement. We stand behind our manufacturing quality and work with EPC contractors to resolve any issues that may arise during the warranty period.
Direct Factory Communication
Working directly with the manufacturer means fewer communication layers and faster resolution when technical questions come up.
Manufacturing Experience
Our production team handles both standard transformer designs and project-specific configurations. We understand what’s different about each.
Quality Management
In-house control over core manufacturing processes and systematic factory testing help keep product performance consistent.
Project Experience
We have supplied transformers for EPC projects across renewable energy, industrial, and utility applications in multiple regions — including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. Each project has strengthened our understanding of what EPC contractors expect from a transformer manufacturer.
